Repeat Prescriptions

IMPORTANT CHANGES : -
From 16.4.18 onwards, your GP practice will only accept medication requests from you or your carer (apart from in exceptional circumstances by arrangement). If your medicine is currently ordered for you by your pharmacy or a dispensing company, you will now need to order it yourself directly from your GP practice.
Why is this happening?
It is important that you only order the medication that you currently require. Medicines that are not taken and are therefore wasted cost the NHS approximately £300 million every year. Locally, across Chorley and South Ribble and Greater Preston CCGs up to £6 million could be saved by reducing medicines waste.
How to order you medicines:
1. By post (enclose a sae)
2. By person - drop into into the surgery (mail box provided)
3. By the on-line system (by clicking the link above) Ordering repeat prescriptions online is the quickest and easiest way to order your repeat items
4. Order through Patient On-Line Access - call into the surgery with photographic ID and proof of address to register for this service.
5. Via email - withnellhealthcentre@nhs.net
Please allow 48 hours (not including weekends and Bank Holidays) for repeat prescriptions.
PLEASE NOTE THAT IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CONTACT THE PHARMACY YOU HAVE SELECTED AND ASK THEM TO COLLECT YOUR PRESCRIPTION FROM THE SURGERY
Medication Reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
